We are proud to announce that the Tenth Annual Encore Gala will be held on Saturday, October 30, 2004 at the Boston Park Plaza Hotel and Towers. As this year's co-chairs, we are asking for your support of this outstanding event sponsored by William J. Lynch and Associates. We also ask that you join us in welcoming Berklee's new president, Roger Brown, and his wife, Linda Mason.
Berklee's Encore Gala is considered one of the hottest fundraisers in town because it offers a unique opportunity to experience over 200 outstanding musicians in seven different settings performing everything from jazz, blues, rock, big band, salsa, gospel, pop, country, world music and classical - all in one evening!
Along with an evening of superb musical entertainment, the Encore Gala also offers a cocktail reception and dinner, and an incredible silent auction. The silent auction features unusual items like tickets to the Grammy Awards, trips to a castle in Ireland and the island of Mustique, incredible deals on musical instruments, and private luxury box seats to your favorite sporting events to name a few.
Most importantly, all proceeds from the Encore Gala support the Berklee City Music Program. Berklee City Music is literally a life changing experience for the nearly 900 disadvantaged inner-city youth who have participated since 1991 in Berklee's Five-Week Summer Performance Program, and in the year-long mentoring, Saturday and after-school components. At the end of the Summer Performance Program, Berklee awards up to eight full-time, four-year scholarships to deserving seniors in the program. To date, Berklee's Encore Gala has raised over $3,000,000 for Berklee City Music.
We invite you to purchase a $2,500 table (Silver Circle), $3,500 table (Gold Circle), or $5,000 table (President's Circle). Each table seats ten guests. Individual seats are also available. Program book ads are $1,000 for a full page and $500 for a half.
While you are enjoying the Encore Gala, take pride in the fact that you are helping many young people to fulfill their dreams. Please call Beverly Tryon, Director of Corporate Relations, at 617-747-2660 or email at btryon@berklee.edu with any questions or to offer your support.
Sincerely,
William J. Lynch, Co-Chair
