(AP) Steve Wariner Sings for Contest Winner

It's great to win Steve Wariner. Ask Celeste Cade of Jackson, Miss. She wrote the winning 50-word essay on why she'd like a Steve Wariner concert in her workplace. So he's just returned from Jackson, where he sang for the Baptist Children's Village home for abused and neglected children.

The children's home was Wariner's second stop on a swing south to do good. He first stopped in Dallas, for the international convention of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. There, he performed "There Will Come A Day (Holly's Song)," from his current CD, "Steal Another Day." It was doubly meaningful, since Wariner's stepdaughter Holly inspired that song. She was diagnosed with diabetes when she was eight years old.
